Christian has edited hundreds of books for children, young adults, and adults, including more than two dozen New York Times best sellers and numerous award winners. He began his publishing career at Disney Publishing Worldwide before moving on to Simon & Schuster, Macmillan (as editorial director of Henry Holt Books for Young Readers), and Paramount, where he oversaw the (short-lived) relaunch of MTV Books.

He began writing creatively in 2015, drawing from what he learned from the writers and illustrators he edited and from the excellent education he received growing up in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and at Northwestern University. Since then, he has published eight picture books (and has written a bunch more), drafted the screenplay for a movie musical (which might still happen!), and has completed two novels.
